Learning new skills when your work is changing

Many people are being told their work is about to change, often because of AI. If you are in your 40s, 50s or 60s, you may have done good work for years and now feel you are being asked to start again. That is a hard place to be. You are not behind because you are asking.
Who this is for
- People in their 40s, 50s and 60s who want to learn new skills and are not sure where to begin.
- Anyone whose job is changing because of AI.
- People who have been out of work, or fear they soon will be, and want a plain view of what to learn first.
You do not need to be good with technology. You do not need a plan.
What you can have today
A free 15-minute conversation with Justin Mackay, who founded Volka.
You say what your work looks like now and what you would like to change. Justin gives plain, practical guidance. What to learn first. What you can leave for later. Who is worth talking to next.
The conversation is by phone or video, whichever suits you. If you ask, Justin will name specific courses or providers.
That is all it is. It costs nothing, and you do not have to buy anything after it.
What does not exist yet
Volka is building more in this area. Today there are no courses, no learning platform and no partner organisations. Please do not expect them yet. If that changes, this page will say so.

- Is the conversation really free?
Yes. The conversation is free and takes 15 minutes. You do not have to buy anything.
- Do I need to know anything about computers or AI?
No. Tell Justin where you are now and he starts from there. Questions that feel basic are welcome.
- Is this a course?
No. There are no courses yet. What exists today is a conversation and some plain, practical guidance on what to learn first and who to talk to.
- Will Volka find me a job?
No. Volka does not place people in jobs today. The conversation helps you work out what to learn and where to go next.
