Business consulting
A plain review of where your business stands and a written plan for what to do next, with someone named against each step.
Volka is a Brisbane-based consultancy that provides general business consulting to owner-run Australian businesses. It looks at how the business is set up, decides with you what matters most this year, and writes a plan that people can follow.

Who it is for
Owners facing a decision about direction, structure or change. The business is working, but you are unsure what to fix first, or a change is coming: a new site, new hires, a new line of work, or a step back from daily running.
Signs you need it
- You have many ideas and no agreed order for them.
- Roles overlap and nobody is clearly accountable for results.
- A change is planned, and staff are uneasy about it.
- You are unsure which products or customers earn the business its money.
- You want a second view before a significant decision.
What Volka does
Reviews how the business is organised, who does what and where the gaps are.
Talks to the owner and key staff to find where the plan and the reality differ.
Looks at where the money comes from and where it goes, using the figures you already have.
Writes a plan with a short list of priorities, each with an owner and a date.
Maps who is accountable for which results, and proposes changes to structure where needed.
Supports change with the team: what is changing, why, and what each person does differently.
For the money review, Volka asks for the figures you already keep: recent profit and loss reports, sales by product or customer where you have them, and a list of your main costs. Where those figures exist, Volka reviews margins by product or customer.
What you get at the end
- A written plan that fits on a few pages: where the business stands, what to do first, who owns each item and how you will know it is done.
- If you want it, Volka can stay on to help carry the plan out, as a project or on a retainer.

Questions
- How is business consulting different from systems and processes?
Systems and processes is about how daily work gets done. Business consulting is about direction and structure: what to focus on, how the business is organised and what to change. The two often follow each other.
- Does Volka give financial, tax or legal advice?
No. Volka works on operations, structure and planning. For tax, accounting or legal questions, Volka works alongside your accountant or lawyer.
- Can Volka guarantee growth?
No, and any consultant who does should be questioned. Volka commits to a clear review, a written plan and support in carrying it out. The results depend on the market and on the choices you make.
- How long does a business review take?
The scope and timeline are agreed in writing before work starts.
